Directions: The Lighting Research Center is in downtown Troy, not on the main campus on the hill. The following directions will help you negotiate Troy's one-way streets if you cross the Hudson on the Collar City Bridge (Route 7 to Hoosick Street). The bridge has four east-bound lanes.
- Get in the 2nd lane from the right. Bear right at the Downtown Troy exit.
- Go straight at the end of the ramp to merge onto 6th Avenue.
- Stay on 6th Avenue through the 1st traffic light.
- Get in the center lane at the 2nd light.
- After you go through the light, turn right on Grand Street.
- Turn left on 5th Avenue.
- Turn left on Fulton Street.
- Pass the Gurley Building on the left and turn left into the parking lot. The lot is quite large, however, at 4 p.m. many of the spaces may be in use. If necessary, park on Fulton Street or Sixth Avenue.
- Enter the historic Gurley Building through the double green doors facing the parking lot.
- Take the elevator to the Lighting Research Center on the third floor.
